What would life be without sweets? It would be life, but as they say here, it would surely be "flat", like a week without a Sunday. Once, the sweet was a rare event, a thing reserved only for special occasions or for important celebrations like Christmas or Easter. The farmers' world didn't ignore the sweets, but interpreted them in its own way: patience, inventiveness, sincere respect for traditions, saving.
Fruit stored away or conserved after hard work, came back to life at the right time with a few, simple gestures.  
Our sweets evoke the past with their simple and intense flavours, but they renovate the old traditions to practise what we are looking for: to revive the past, in a new fashion.
